Last week in the Philippines, we ran a 2- day training session with our team. The session was really well received by our staff and I was very impressed with our team’s willingness to learn and understand the entire advice process and their role within it. Specifically we covered the following areas in our training:
- First meeting process (what happens before, during and after the first meeting) – doing file notes, entering fact finds into Coin or Xplan.
- Overview of Financial products (including investment, super, retirement, platforms, insurance)
- How to Research clients existing products (sending authority to the clients super fund, calling the super fund to get fees, balances, investment options, etc.)
- Insurance quotes and research (including how to prepare quotes)
- Super fund research (more in depth research on obtaining investment performance, comparing fees between different funds, including Chant West Reports)
- Statement of advice (what happens before, during and after a statement of advice presentation, how to read a statement of advice and refer to strategy, product and fee sections to ascertain what application forms to prepare)
- Prepare application forms (how to prepare application forms and supporting documents for super, retirement, insurance products)
- Lodgements (how to lodge applications), including booking medicals
- Lodgements follow up (best practice on following up implementation of client applications)
